More Good Reasons

Visible impact on a global stage
Backed by the stability and resources of a company over 100 years strong, you will play an important role in shaping the future for some 3000 employees. You'll drive high-profile initiatives that help us improve productivity, attract and engage top talent and maintain our competitive edge in an evolving world.

Square one innovation
You know as well as anyone that, in this space, change is constant. Add to that our strong growth and private company flexibility, and you will showcase your creativity day in and day out. You'll take on a steady stream of intriguing challenges; for example, our hotels need to be able to chat with guests -- what is the best way for us to do that?

Great culture
Our culture is truly guided by our vision: To delight guests by creating the world’s best experiences today while reimagining tomorrow. In essence, our job is to help people have fun, and that makes for an upbeat atmosphere. Our senior leadership understands the importance of ensuring that Delaware North is a great place to work.

A commitment to corporate responsibility
Delaware North has a rich tradition of unmatched integrity and community service. We know that being a good corporate citizen means much more than writing a check. It means making a difference in the lives of our associates, customers, clients and the communities in which we live and provide service. Our global stewardship platform rests on three pillars: environment, community support and social responsibility.

Strong values
Lots of companies talk about values, but at Delaware North, our values guide every action and every decision:
  • Lean Forward: We are innovative creators who continually reimagine what’s next.
  • Come Together: We work collaboratively with each other and believe in the power of partnership.
  • Stand Up: We lead by example, own our decisions, and take initiative.
  • Do Right: We value integrity and always do the right thing, especially when no one is looking.
  • Think Guest: The guest experience is at the heart of everything we do.
Excellent compensation
Delaware North believes in a total rewards package that helps us recruit and retain the best associates in the industry. In addition to a competitive salary and bonus incentive program, we offer a comprehensive benefits program designed to give our associates the comfort, safety and stability they need to flourish. It includes all you would expect plus some pleasant surprises, such as a company match on the 401(k) plan; tuition assistance, training and development; friends-and-family discounts to events and properties, and more.

Video: At Delaware North, corporate responsibility means more than contributing funds and services (although each year the Jacobs family -- company founders and owners -- gives millions of dollars to communities around the world). It also means that our team members involve themselves in a wide range of volunteering and fundraising efforts. A case in point: On Aug. 21, 2017, more than 150 Western New York-based Delaware North employees teamed up to give back at the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County’s annual Day of Caring.

About Buffalo

Already the second largest regional economy in the state (after New York City), Buffalo is a city on the upswing. Strategic investments, including the state's Buffalo Billion and Buffalo Billion II initiatives, are driving private sector growth and supporting enhancements to quality of life and infrastructure improvements.

Recent construction attests to the upswing and includes a Tesla solar panel production facility, multiple projects at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, Waterfront development such as the Canalside neighborhood and festival marketplace, and others.

Another innovative program, 43North, has invested over $15 million in startups since 2014 through an annual startup pitch competition. This unique public-private partnership has awarded grants in software, life science, manufacturing, clean tech and other industries.

Forbes rated the area #101 on its 2018 list of Best Places for Business and Careers. The New York Times included Buffalo on its list of 52 Places to go in 2018, saying "downtown Buffalo now buzzes with life" and citing the opening of new brewpubs, luxury hotels and the Explore & More children's museum.

Buffalo is also a great place to raise a family. Travel & Leisure ranked it #3 on their 2017 list of America's Favorite Cities. Not only does the city offer great food (Buffalo wings are just the beginning), but also offers great green spaces and fine architecture. In fact, there are seven structures here designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The cost of living, led by particularly affordable housing, is lower than the national average.

There isn't space here to list all of the diverse things to see and do in Buffalo -- including art, architecture, history, events, entertainment, shopping and more -- so we invite you to explore Visit Buffalo Niagara's overview. Keys to Success

Your technical savvy will be important, but the biggest challenge probably will be managing the culture change. You'll need to understand the various users, including their goals and challenges, and get their input to promote buy-in and ownership. You also will need to sell the benefits of the changes, working the process to keep things moving forward.

Similarly, while creativity and innovation will be essential, you also will need a robust respect for governance and standards. The rewards will be great, but there also will be risks to mitigate. If you're the person we're looking for, you know that creating a vision is only the start; success also takes careful planning, execution and attention to detail.

To excel in this role you will bring strong professional curiosity and a drive to explore and understand expectations and capabilities. That means looking at the full picture. Rather than just saying, "Let's buy this new tool," you will evaluate security, cost of ownership, ROI, challenges and more. You also will factor in ALL stakeholders, including employees, customers, vendors and others.

In addition, in order to be an outstanding Digital Workplace Leader, you will:
  • Provide strong leadership in both strategy and execution.
  • Embrace the role of evangelist, leading and managing through high performance teaming.
  • Build strategic working relationships.
  • Drive for results.
  • Develop talent.
  • Promote innovation and creativity across the organization.

Home to approximately 200 public events annually, TD Garden hosts well over 3.5 million people each year.
